What Was Recently Said (4/26/22): While his value might not necessarily be reflected in the box score, Hart is incredibly important to this squad. He shines as a natural glue-guy, consistently affecting all facets of the game and making hustle plays whenever possible. Hart is a smart overall player who can reliably pass, score, defend, and handle the ball. He shows a willingness to do whatever possible to provide his team with an edge.

(7/15/22)

Although others might receive more attention, Hart is truly as valuable to the team’s success as anyone on the roster. He’s an extremely team-oriented player with a clear knack for dictating the action as a smart, adaptable leader by example. Hart possesses a well-rounded skillset and naturally affects all facets of the game within the flow of the action. He’s a knockdown shooter, quality playmaker, and willing hustle player with strong defensive instincts and the necessary toughness to overwhelm his assignment on both ends of the floor. Hart is willing to do anything to win, which should appeal to various programs at the next level.

What To Expect:

There are so many players who think they must tally high point totals and constantly play above the rim in order to appeal to college coaches, but Jake Hart is more focused on doing whatever it takes to win. Over the summer season, he clearly stood out as a leader by example and difference-maker on both ends of the floor. Hart is a smart, unselfish, high-motor point guard who knows how to run a team with poise. He’s a very willing passer with a clear emphasis on getting his teammates involved whenever possible. Hart is a useful all-around scorer and will take advantage of easy scoring opportunities, but would rather create opportunities for others. He’s a reliable playmaker, rugged defender, and active hustle guy who will do anything to provide his team with an edge. Hart can cut, spot-up, and generally find success without the ball, but is arguably better when operating as a primary creator. Add in his toughness, rebounding presence, and team-oriented approach, and his overall appeal is pretty obvious. After recently earning a Guilford offer, Hart should be targeted by various types of programs going forward.
