Lady Phenom made the trip to Myers Park this past weekend for the MP Title IX Showcase, bringing several teams around the area to one venue. We had a great opportunity to find new talent on the floor, and one team that impressed Friday night was AC Reynolds, led by their leaders that included senior Julie Janus.
The 5’7 senior prospect grabbed our attention with her leadership, her playmaking, and her impact on both sides of the floor. Watching her on the court, you could see that she embraces as a natural leader, competing and looking to make the best play for her team. She is a strong ball-handler, understands how to run the offense, makes high-IQ plays to get others involved, and plays with tremendous composure under pressure. When she doesn’t have the ball, she moves well without the ball to create opportunities, she competes on the boards, and she brings a scrappy, never-back-down attitude on both offense and defense. Really did like her aggressive nature but also plays well within the team.
Right now, she holds offers from Catawba, Meredith, and Mars Hill, but she is also an unsigned senior who deserves more attention in what she provides.
