Player: Ty Glasper
Class: 2025
School: Gatlinburg-Pittman

Season: Out in Tennessee, there has been a freshman that has been putting on a nightly show this season, as 6’0 Ty Glasper has been leading the charge for the Highlanders.  Glasper has been posting some incredible numbers so far this season, as the freshman is averaging 22.8 points, 4.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while shooting 50 percent from the floor, 38 percent from three, and has hit 67 3-pointers this season so far.

Phenom Hoops has had several chances to watch Glasper on the court, but it has been over a year since our last viewing.  But when scrolling back, Glasper was one of the top standouts back in 2019 at our WNC Phenom 150 camp, where the young guard showcased tight handles, his ability to get into the paint, see the entire floor, and make plays on several levels of the court.

Here is his evaluation from the camp:

“Moving onto a player that highlighted some pretty impressive two-way abilities, especially for his age, Anthony “Ty” Glasper. He’s a young, wiry guard prospect with a nice motor and two-way feel for the game. Glasper utilizes his quickness and energy to disrupt his assignment on defense and force turnovers, leading to easy buckets in transition. He’s excellent at getting downhill and finishing strong at the basket, but also has the ability to make plays for others with the ball in his hands… Coach Senyo on Glasper: “Ty has great vision and runs the court on every single possession. He is a unique left-handed guard that is very well-rounded on both ends of the floor. He has nice touch around the basket with multiple layup packages.” Glasper was very productive during camp and displayed phenomenal upside, so it’ll be exciting to see his continued growth going forward.”

We got another viewing the following summer when he performed extremely well with 865 Select, where he showcased, even more, his shifty game, his quick handles, his ability to break down defenders, play with poise, and his ability to score in a variety of ways.

It seems that the young guard hasn’t had any type of letdown, as he has been the go-to leader for the Highlanders this season in helping them to a 28-6 overall record. Glasper is going to be a name you will want to get to know now before it is too late. Just check out some of his highlights from the season so far.

Coach’s Take: “Strong athletic 6’0 guard that can score on all 3 levels. Great court vision and high IQ player. Has a 4.0 GPA and a great work ethic.”
