Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Isaac Dobie
Class: 2023
Committed to: MIT

What Was Said:

“He’s a wiry, long-bodied wing prospect with phenomenal perimeter shooting and the ability to fill it up from beyond the arc. Dobie is a lethal spot-up threat who moves well without the ball and operates within the team structure at all times. He can initiate, make the extra pass, and attack off the bounce as needed, but doesn’t force anything. Dobie is a solid overall defender who positions himself well to contain his assignment and force turnovers whenever possible. He gets to his spots in transition, and capitalizes as needed.”

“Dobie did what he has always done on the floor, as he continues to display his to have a quick release and doesn’t need much space to find his shot. Dobie can be a big threat for his team and looks for his perimeter shot, as he plays with a ton of confidence with his three-point shooting.”

“The senior guard had a strong showing at the Top 80 event, averaging 14.3 points throughout the event and showing why he not only belonged at the event but why he should be a name more programs could look at.  Dobie competes on both ends and made his presence felt. Whether it was his ability to knock down shots and showcase his range or attack off the bounce, Dobie can be a useful weapon in what he provides. But you also have to like how he worked hard on the defensive end as well along with him being an unselfish player.”

“Heading out to the Outer Banks again, Dobie is part of a dynamic duo at First Flight that is certainly fun to watch.  The senior is coming off a junior season in which he averaged nearly 20 points and continues to add more to his game while showing his confidence in finding his shot from outside.  He is shifty with his game, creates well with the dribble, and understands how to score the ball well.”
