Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Isaac Holmes
Class: 2022
Committed to: Indiana State

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Holmes continues to be an intriguing prospect to watch on the court, especially with is size, versatility, and IQ.  Holmes continues to show that he can be an effective scorer inside and out, as well as put the ball on the deck to create for himself. But you don’t always see players with his feel and vision in finding his teammates, delivering some pinpoint passes to his teammates for easy buckets.”

“It’s easy to appreciate the unselfish brand of basketball Apex Friendship plays, and it certainly starts with the savvy, passer-friendly Holmes. Not only has he visibly improved his body, but he’s among the best setup artists in the entire state. Holmes showed the ability to score efficiently from all three levels, but primarily looked to create for others whenever possible. Add in his frame and understanding of how to utilize his body, and he has obvious next-level talent.”

“It’s really fun to watch Isaac take charge of the Apex Friendship offense. The big bodied PG has a very clear understanding of off ball motion not just as the cutter but as the passer. His court vision is elite, seeing varying patterns of cuts and then having the ability to deliver a quality pass for guys to finish while never seeming to force the issue. And today he showed off his shooting stroke too, he hit 4 threes with each being highly contested proving defenses won’t be able to solely key on Gabe Proctor as a shooting threat.”

“Isaac has been one of the more skilled players that I’ve watched today. The hybrid forward carries a trait of skillful, intelligent basketball with him at all times. He plays a very crafty game, highlighting both his ability to shoot the ball as well as facilitate. Holmes is difficult to match up with, given his ability to operate from both behind the arc and off the dribble. When you pair this with his size advantage over most high school players at this position, he’s a matchup nightmare.”
