On this edition of Brandon’s Bucket Team, we’ll look at a talented combo guard from Team CP3 Caden Davis.

Davis was a pivotal member in the 14U squads run to a national championship last month; he’s already a gifted scorer and an efficient finisher at the cup. Over the weekend, Davis was one of 246 prospects invited to CP3’s Rising Stars camp. An annual showcase hosted by Houston Rockets All Star point guard Chris Paul that features top American and International rising freshmen competing in league play for two days concluded by a dunk contest and all-star games.

Pitted against some of the top prospects in 2021, Davis scored double figures in a big matchup with several scouts looking on.

Davis was in full-blown attack mode the entire contest and really proved capable of scoring from all three levels. When he got the rock, Davis was able to penetrate the lane and finish through contact. Davis also shot the three efficiently when defenders were caught with their hands down and you know the rule! What stood out most was the “alpha dog” mentality Davis possesses on the court, he’s not afraid to step up and be a leader.

This fall the youngster is set to attend Reynolds a program that will have to replace a lot of scoring from last year.

This is a guy who can come in and contribute to the backcourt immediately; he’s a polished scorer at this point, at 6’2 Davis has good size and a stocky frame that will make for an easier adjustment at the high school level, and he’s coming into a good situation joining a prestigious Demons program looking to reload.
