5’11 Amari Baggett (Reidsville)

Obviously, the freshmen duo for Reidsville receives a ton of attention, but Amari Baggett is also a major part of the Rams’ success. He’s a tough, athletic, well-rounded guard prospect with feel, playmaking ability, and defensive instincts. Baggett has made a seamless transition after the arrival and emergence of his two notable teammates, and has actually improved his three-point shooting by an insane mark (21% to 37%). This season, he’s averaging 10.4 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 2.3 SPG.

5’11 Jayden Pitt (Farmville Central)

It’s truly surprising that more schools haven’t gotten involved with Jayden Pitt, especially given the amount of success he’s experienced during his time as a key piece with Farmville Central. In three seasons, Pitt has gone 71-6 (in addition to 9-0 during his freshman season on JV) with two state championships in three straight appearances. Regarding his actual on-court ability, Pitt is tough, poised, and sets the tone on both ends of the floor. He utilizes his sharp first step to touch the paint at a high volume, where he’s able to finish or set up others.

6’1 Jahmar Jones (Wilson Prep)

Given his scoring outburst in the semifinal contest, it seems like no better time to recognize Jahmar Jones. After somewhat of a slow start to the season, he’s notched double-digit scoring in 16 of his last 20 games. Jones is a strong, athletic guard with the ability to consistently get downhill and apply pressure as a finisher around the basket. He’s a quality defender who understands how to intercept passing lanes, get out in transition, and score or set up others. This season, Jones is averaging 11.1 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 1.9 SPG while shooting 51% from the floor.

6’4 DaVonte Brooks (Eastern Randolph)

There’s a lot to appreciate about the manner in which DaVonte Brooks led this Eastern Randolph squad throughout this title run. However, the dual sport athlete has done it all season long. Brooks has eight games of 30+ points and three of 40+ points while going 29-2 and posting gaudy numbers along the way. He’s long, strong, athletic, and plays with an excellent motor on either side of the ball. This season, Brooks is averaging 23.6 PPG, 11.7 RPG, and 2.9 SPG while shooting 55% from the floor.
