You know what Dorman high school has been able to produce on the court over the years… talent after talent has come through those doors and more should be coming. They had a tremendous season once again, led by their experienced players including 2021 Jalen Breazeale. But now, Breazeale will be heading off to the next level so it isn’t too early to possibly look at the future guards for this program.
One player that could be a name coming up is 2023 Chase Harris. We got our first view earlier in 2020 before the season started in an open gym, where Patrick O’Brien had this to say about his game:
“Harris is a young guard that played really well and found his offensive game. He scored from behind the arc and showed quickness/craft in getting to the rim. He made tremendous, easy plays, while also getting to his spot.”
When you look further into his game though, he has some early strengths that you have to like. He has a nice shooting stroke and can knock down shots from multiple areas, while also playing with a high IQ on the floor. Harris has a good feel for the game and simply can get it done as a defender but also as an unselfish player in finding his teammates. Don’t also look past his athleticism and competitive nature, as he looks to bring it every time he steps on the court. There are still some areas where he is continuing to work and develop but Harris has a lot to like.
He gave us another glimpse lately at the Phenom Challenge where he helped lead his team to a 16u championship for Upstate Select, knocking down multiple three’s and was strong on the defensive end.
Make sure you put him on your watch list for sure though this summer and heading into next high school season.
