This upcoming weekend, Phenom Hoops will travel to the Raleigh Convention Center to host our annual G3 Live Showcase. The event is set to feature an abundance of college-worthy talent and prospects for coaches at nearly every level. In addition to the countless names set to be on display, coaches will also have the opportunity to watch Ean King and Tyshaun Goldston of NLPB. Both worthy college-level pieces, let’s take a closer look at each prospect…
Although there are several prospects on NLPB for college coaches to watch, the unsigned seniors of King and Goldston should appeal to programs in search of late additions to their rosters. Starting with King, who is a 6-foot-6 forward with a strong body, high motor, and useful interior presence on both ends of the floor. He finishes well around the basket and does a great job of playing hard to outwork opponents for rebounds. King understands how to produce within the flow of the offensive structure, but doesn’t need a ton of touches to impact a game. His willingness to make hustle plays and consistently battle on the glass naturally leads to production. He should appeal to a variety of different programs.
Meanwhile, Goldston is someone who folks likely already know from previous travel ball seasons. He’s long, explosive, and is capable of impacting the game in a multitude of ways on both sides of the ball. Goldston is a terrific athlete whose motor, toughness, and well-rounded ability make him a problem for opponents. He’s great at getting downhill and applying pressure as a finisher at the rim. Goldston is an excellent transition threat with the ability to grab rebounds and immediately push the break. He’s a willing passer and capable perimeter shooter with a useful handle for his size/position. Goldston is a quality rebounder whose nose for the ball allows him to regularly outwork opponents for extra possessions. Add in his versatile defensive presence, and it’s easy to see him finding success at the next level.
