Season in Review:

An impressive season it was for McCain. As a freshman, he averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, shot 40.6 percent from three, 43 percent overall, and 80 percent from the free-throw line. That included a 30-point performance vs. Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia) and 36 points vs. Norco. McCain was also named to the All-Tournament team at the Tarkanian Classic and the King Cotton Classic.

As far as accolades that came his way, the 2023 guard was named 1st Team All-League, 1st Team All-Open Division CIF, and 1st Team All-Riverside County.  He was also recently named 25th in the country by ESPN.

Head Coach Josh Giles: “He may be the most determined player I’ve ever had. He works so hard and brings energy to workouts that you don’t often see. He is a great shooter that is working really hard to improve on his handle and his ability to finish at or above the rim. Incredibly high basketball IQ; true student of the game. By far, the most mature freshman I’ve been around at Centennial. I tell everyone I was a senior when Casey Jacobsen we a freshman in high school. We were teammates and you could tell Casey was a pro at 15. His approach to the game, preparation, and commitment was like no other freshman I’ve ever seen. Jared is on that same level that Casey was on. 4.0 student that has a great sense of humor. Just a great kid to work with and be around.”
