Out in the eastern part of the state, 2022 guard Jay Curry has been quickly gaining recognition for his offensive scoring once again this season, averaging over 30 points per game and simply putting on a show.  Curry just knows how to knock down shots from all areas of the court, showing that he can explode from deep, has good handles, and just oozes confidence with his game.  He has already surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his high school career and he could be looking to pass the 2,000-point mark when it is all said and done.

Speaking with Curry:

PHR: How would you best describe your game on the floor and how you like to operate'
Curry: I would say that I’m known to score and get to the basket pretty easy and can also finish well. And on the court, I really try to get my team involved and then when it is time to take over, I take over. But I really strive off my defense. Getting a stop on defense just brings the energy to not only me but my team.

PHR: What areas of your game are you hoping to continue to improve in'
Curry: I want to continue to improve as a point guard and leader on the court. I feel this is the next step for me.

PHR: What has been going on with your recruitment'
Curry: I’ve talked to a few schools but as of right now, Lansing Community is the only one that has officially offered. I’ve talked to a few coaches from the CIAA and a few other JUCOs who have said I’m on their radar and said I’m a really good player.
