Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the blustery Piedmont! It is so windy that The Illustrious One thought he heard someone calling, “Auntie M, Auntie M” a while ago. However, he is hanging in there and is here to deliver his final F5 of the regular season. Last week saw the contenders contend and the pretenders fall. One matchup in the Greater Metro 4A featured old friends #2 Lake Norman and #3 Mooresville mixing it up, with the Lakers winning thus completing their table run in the conference and spoiling the Blue Devils’ senior night. Speaking of table runs, #1 North Meck also completed one of their own in the QC 4A/3A by getting past a game effort from Hopewell and cruising at West Charlotte. This was their 2nd undefeated conference regular season in a row. The conference tournaments promise to bring more memorable moments this coming week. 1. NORTH MECK – THE VIKINGS RAN THE QC 4A/3A TABLE FOR THE 2ND YEAR IN A ROW. NOW GUNNING FOR YET ANOTHER TOURNEY TITLE.
2. LAKE NORMAN – DISPATCHED RIVAL MOORESVILLE IN ROUND 2, COMPLETING A SWEEP OF THEIR CONFERENCE BOARD. IS ROUND 3 COMING NEXT WEEK?
3. CATHOLIC – THEY SECURE A TIE WITH INDEPENDENCE FOR THE SW 4A REGULAR SEASON TITLE, BUT HAVE THE 2 SEED FOR THE TOURNEY.
4. WEDDINGTON – THE TRIBE PRODUCES ANOTHER TABLE RUN OF THEIR OWN IN THE SOUTHERN CAROLINA 4A.
5. INDEPENDENCE – THE PATRIOTS SECURE A TIE FOR 1ST IN SW 4A REGULAR SEASON WITH CATHOLIC, AND HAVE TOP SEED IN THE TOURNEY DUE TO A REGULAR SEASON SWEEP OF THE COUGARS.
