Trinity Academy of Raleigh vs. Garner

2022 Noah Ross really stepped up with his team short-handed, as he continues to show his ability to effectively score from multiple levels and in a variety of ways. He has such a smooth pull-up game, plays strong on the boards, and made his opponent pay from outside. 2022 Zach Sloan also stepped up for his team, playing with terrific energy and scoring effectively inside the arc.

Garner is a young program to watch and it gave fans a view of a few players to look at down the road. 2024 Brandon Callahan was one of those players as well as 2024 6’2 Chris Crudup who made some plays as well, scoring the ball from outside but also attacking the basket well.  Also liked the presence that 2022 6’2 Derrick Tillery down low in the post and 2023 Tanner Mikulecky who knocked down shots from outside.

Asheville Christian vs. Callaway

The man was back at it again, as 2022 De’Ante Green continues to showcase why he is one of the top players around the region and in the country; an absolute mismatch, Green was extremely effective, going 11-for-16 and continuing to show how he operates in all areas of the court.  He was dominant and continues to show he can’t be stopped, ultimately finishing with 28 points in the come-from-behind win.  2022 Keiveon Hunt was a guard that caught some eyes for Callaway, as he is just a tough guard to hold down, creating his shot for himself and making plays all over the court; he was the true leader for Callaway on Day 2 of the John Wall.  We also were introduced to 2025 Javarian Mallard for Callaway, as he finished with 12 points.

Northside Christian vs. Enloe

A name rising up the rankings with what he has shown this season is 2023 Mychael Mitchell at Northside Christian. The junior guard has played really well this year and continued to do so, really being aggressive and getting to the line on Day 2, going 10-for-13 from the line, and ended up scoring 16 points with also 4 assists, 5 steals, and 3 rebounds. 2023 Wesley Tubbs continues to be productive as well, finishing with a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds. Enloe battled all throughout this game, led by their senior guard Isaiah Jacobs, who went for 16 points and also created 5 steals and 5 rebounds. Josh Laney finished with 10 points and 7 assists as well.

Greenfield vs. Farmville Central

A very intriguing game that really got the event going to another level, Greenfield held the lead for much of the game led by 2022 Aaron Murphy, as he once again plays with such a strong, physical presence for someone at his size.  He really understands how to finish in the paint at 6’4 and embraces being physical and active on the boards.  2023 Matt Kirby was another that really played well for Greenfield, playing with a terrific motor, showing his speed in getting to the basket, and knocking down key threes.

Farmville Central though started to find themselves in the second half, led by their leader in Jah Short, who came alive with 17 points. Short, a 6’4 2023 prospect, brings such good athleticism, size, mid-range game, and is a natural scorer on the court. I was also impressed with 2024 6’1 Alex Moye, who played much bigger than listed. Active on both ends, was able to get his hands on the ball on multiple occasions, attacked the glass and was aggressive in putting pressure on the defense and getting to the line. He finished with a double-double, 15 points and 10 rebounds.
