I was able to end my night in the Concord area after a long day of open gyms, but it was a treat to head out to Carolina Courts in Concord to check out some terrific talent playing in the 2021 Lady Attack Elite Exposure Scrimmage. It brought us new names to start looking at for the upcoming season, as these players were the ones that captured my eyes from the night.

2025 Jenny Briggs (Marvin Ridge):

Though only a freshman, Briggs showed that she has a tremendous comfort level in handling the offense and having the ball in her hands. Natural feel on the court, she made plays and created for her teammates while also looking for her shot. Composed point guard for her age.

2023 Zion Duncan (Victory Christian):

Duncan is a strong presence down in the paint, showing good hands, the ability to create with her back to the basket, and finish with good touch around the basket.  Duncan works hard on the boards and uses her size well on both ends.  Strong feel down low.

2022 Airyanna Carlton:

Carlton played really well and strong down in the paint, carving out space, pushing around her opponents, and creating space to show off her touch around the basket.  She is a post player is strong with the ball and excels with her post moves/back to the basket in finishing.

2024 Lili Booker (Cannon):

Talk about a crafty and shifty ball-handler, this young guard has a lot to like early on.  Good size, pushes the ball well in transition, and her vision and passing ability may have been the best I saw all night.  Exceptional feel in finding her teammates and using her speed to her advantage.  She is going to be one to really watch this coming high school season as he is a play-making guard in transition.

2023 Jamecia Huntley (Salisbury):

Huntley is an active and versatile prospect with good size at 5’11.  Really liked her activity level on both ends, playing under control, running the floor in transition for easy buckets, and showing that she can create for others but also makes the right play on the court.

2024 Raven LeXander (Concord Academy):

LeXander is a long, wiry prospect that looks the mold of a next-level player.  She moves well, can play and operate from multiple positions, create for herself off the dribble, and is still young/developing her overall game.

2022 Maleigh Jackson (Phillip O’Berry):

Jackson is a rising senior and one that was mentioned to watch for and can certainly see why.  Jackson plays extremely hard, puts her body on the line, makes winning plays, and is a tough post prospect with his quickness/footwork and her ability to create for herself.  Also like her activity level on the defensive end, getting on the boards and blocking shots.

2023 Anastasia Sinclair (South Meck):

Sinclair brought the speed to the floor and there weren’t many slowing her down.  She does a great job in using that speed to her advantage, getting in the passing lanes, and taking it quickly the other way.  But also she uses that same speed and shiftiness to create in the halfcourt and get by defenders.
