Eric Henderson 6’7 185 2020 Atlantic Shores Christian School, Chesapeake VA

Eric possesses excellent length at 6’7; he’s agile and athletic and offers lots of offensive versatility.  He can score inside and out displaying very good face-up offensive skills including a capable handle, a smooth stroke, nice touch on the jumper with three-point range and some craftiness around the rim.  He has very good shot mechanics and a smooth fluid stroke. A very disciplined shooter who can knock down shots from all levels with very good efficiency especially in the mid-range where he can shoot over the top of many defenders, and also does a great job using the pull-up jumper. He has excellent body control and some shiftiness attacking the rim but can also get downhill quickly using his rangy, determined strides and a fair amount of quickness. Eric spaces the floor well and really has a great feel.  He makes good cuts to get open and gets into his shot quickly.

Around the rim, he has a great touch and is very active as an offensive rebounder getting to stick back opportunities. He’s an active and persistent rebounder both offensively and defensively.  A very good scorer who knows how to find space and move without the ball, Eric demonstrates good court vision and is a solid passer, using his height to survey the floor and find cutters.  Although he's not a powerful post player he's got great footwork and good moves in the paint, embraces contact and finishes nicely.  Eric positions himself well defensively and possesses good shot-blocking ability as a help defender.  In addition to his rebounding, he has the ability to step out and contest shots and the mobility to hedge ball screens and recover capably.  Eric also stars on the Atlantic Shores track team where earlier this season he set a new school record in the 400-meter hurdles. He also participates in the long jump and the triple jump.

Long-time and highly successful Atlantic Shores Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Hudgins says Eric is one of the hardest workers he has coached with regards to coming in and getting up extra shots and workouts. He had a nearly 60-day span this past summer where he made over 10,000 jumpers and he has a tireless work ethic. Eric has a tremendous upside!  His length and wide array of skills makes him a matchup nightmare and one of the 757’s most intriguing prospects.
