Team 1

Coach: Smith

#1: 5’1 ’25 Samantha Collins (Greensboro Day)

Starting things off, we look at a player with a natural understanding of how to lead a team on both ends of the floor, Samantha Collins. She’s a skilled, scrappy, well-rounded guard prospect with a high motor and the ability to make an impact with or without the ball in her hands. Collins can effectively run the team and create opportunities for herself and others, but also poses a lethal spot-up threat from beyond the arc. She’s a great communicator and overall defender with a willingness to make hustle plays, outwork opponents on the glass, and push the break in transition. Her IQ and unselfishness are evident on either side of the ball. Next in her development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make her a better finisher through contact. Coach Smith on Collins: “Samantha is a very good shooter, especially off the catch! Solid ball-handler with the ability to improve her handle and decision-making. She’s very strong on drives. I would like to see her grow into a full-time point guard.” Collins proved to be an asset at camp and should be a key piece for Greensboro Day over the foreseeable future.

#16: 5’6 ’25 Makenzie Kelly (Athens Drive)

Next, we look at a player with the ability to overwhelm opponents through her toughness and nonstop energy, Makenzie Kelly. She’s a smart, unselfish guard prospect with sharp instincts and a rugged defensive nature. Kelly gets downhill and touches the paint at a nice volume, where she’s able to finish through contact or set up her teammates for scoring chances. She’s a reliable shooter from midrange and beyond the arc, but also does a great job of attacking closeouts whenever necessary. Kelly handles the ball well, fights for extra possessions, and consistently makes her presence felt on defense. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Smith on Kelly: “Makenzie is a fast guard with a nice handle. She can get downhill and make plays. She defends very well and competes hard on both ends. I would like to see her improve her shot-making ability off the dribble.” Kelly did a lot of things well during her time at camp and should be poised for a productive junior season at Athens Drive.

#18: 5’6 ’26 Charlotte Tune (Charlotte Latin)

Moving onto a player that easily stood out as one of the top young campers on display, Charlotte Tune. She’s a smart, skilled, fairly athletic guard prospect with excellent shooting prowess from midrange and three-point territory. Tune is a useful creator with a tight handle, quality passing instincts, and the ability to run a team or operate without the ball in her hands. She provides a reliable defensive presence and forces turnovers at a healthy rate. Tune rebounds the ball well for her size/position and pushes the break well in transition. She moves very well as a cutter and spot-up option. Tune consistently made big plays in critical moments for her team, specifically during their championship run. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Smith on Tune: “Charlotte is a very fast guard with the ability to break down defenses. Displays a smooth three-point shot and uses ball screens well. She also competes hard on the defensive end of the floor.” Tune made a strong impression at camp, securing the Tournament MVP, and should be a major piece for Charlotte Latin going forward.

#34: 5’7 ’25 Gabriella Phifer (South Mecklenburg)

Continuing onto a player that consistently found ways to make an impact within the flow of the team structure, Gabriella Phifer. She’s a smart, scrappy guard prospect with a nice shooting stroke from the perimeter. Phifer can spot-up from beyond the arc, but is arguably at her best in the midrange area. She is a capable finisher, passer, and active defender that doesn’t necessarily require the ball in her hands. Phifer knows how to get to her spots in transition. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would open up more scoring chances. Coach Smith on Phifer: “Gabriella’s strongest skill would be her ability to hit jumpers. I would like to see her work on improving as a playmaker and ball-handler. She can also work on her decision-making.” Phifer enjoyed a nice showing at camp and should be a very useful contributor for South Mecklenburg over the coming years.

#54: 5’10 ’24 Kendyll Moore (Corvian Community)

Next, we look at a player that made a lasting impression through her sheer involvement on both ends of the floor, Kendyll Moore. She’s a tough, scrappy, high-motor wing/forward prospect with great size and the ability to physically overwhelm opponents. Moore is a capable shooting threat who does a nice job of attacking closeouts and making an impact without requiring the ball in her hands. She utilizes her length and size very well to cause problems for opponents as a rebounder and on defense. Moore is a quality athlete, especially for her size, and knows how to make hustle plays whenever possible. Next in her development process is working to get stronger, as it would make her a better finisher through contact. Coach Smith on Moore: “Kendyll is a great defender with a nice activity level. She can score at a solid rate but affects the game without needing a lot of touches. Kendyll displayed a very unselfish mentality.” Moore made a nice impact at camp and should have a strong senior campaign for Corvian Community.

#55: 5’10 ’25 Justice Zimmerman (NC GBB)

Moving onto a player that provided her team with a reliable, team-oriented presence, Justice Zimmerman. She’s a strong, physical, high-motor forward prospect with the ability to space the floor extremely well from midrange or beyond the arc. Zimmerman can handle the ball and create for herself and others, but often found chances through spotting up and simply positioning herself for success. She displays a quality feel for the game and is willing to do little things to give her team an edge. Zimmerman rebounds the ball well for her position. Next in her development process is working to get quicker, as it would make her a better defender against smaller perimeter players. Coach Smith on Zimmerman: “Justice is a strong forward with the ability to handle the ball. She has a smooth outside shot and solid penetration sense. She can continue to tighten her ball skills. Justice hit big shots when it mattered most!” Zimmerman stood out as an asset during her time at camp and should be a difference-maker for NC GBB over the coming years.

#73: 6’1 ’26 Olive Bigham (Charlotte Country Day)

Continuing onto a player that possesses an obvious amount of upside and long-term appeal, Olive Bigham. She’s a long, athletic, high-motor post prospect with useful ability as a rebounder and interior defender. Bigham moves well for her size, particularly at her age, and runs the floor hard in transition. She’s a capable finisher but doesn’t look to force the action or do too much offensively. Bigham also displayed the makings of a solid midrange shooter and potential floor-spacer. Next in her development process is working on the use of her off-hand, as it would allow her to become a more complete offensive player. Coach Smith on Bigham: “Olive is a long athlete with a lot of upside. She runs the floor well, rebounds her area, and finishes at a solid rate. Olive also defends multiple positions. She should only continue to grow into her body and become more coordinated.” Bigham highlighted a lot of positive flashes at camp and will be a prospect to monitor over the coming years at Charlotte Country Day.

#74: 6’1 ’24 Icyss Storm (Grace Christian)

Next, we look at a player that definitely made a lasting impression as a leader for this team, Icyss Storm. She’s a strong, athletic, rugged forward/post prospect with a nonstop motor and the ability to consistently overwhelm opponents on both ends of the floor. Storm is a great defender with the length, quickness, and sheer instincts to contain her assignment and force turnovers at a frequent rate. She can also actively toggle between multiple positions. Storm is a quality penetrator with the ability to finish through contact or pull-up from midrange. She’s an active rebounder that pushes the ball ahead and runs the floor in transition. Next in her development process is working on her passing ability, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Smith on Storm: “Icyss is a fierce competitor. Can score from all three levels but at her best inside the arc. Aggressive finisher but needs to improve on driving under control and making better decisions at times.” Storm proved to be a clear difference-maker at camp and should be a major piece for Grace Christian during her upcoming senior season.

#75: 6’4 ’24 Maja Rohkohl (Greensboro Day)

Finishing up, we look at a player that consistently stood out through her energy, unselfishness, and defensive-minded approach, Maja Rohkohl. She’s a long, tough, athletic post prospect with a natural understanding of how to control the glass and protect the rim. Rohkohl is a useful finisher with a blossoming post arsenal and the ability to regularly capitalize on the offensive glass. She displayed the ability to finish with either hand or knock down jumpers at a solid rate, but truly doesn’t need a ton of offensive touches to dominate a game. Rohkohl displays great two-way feel and instincts, and runs the floor hard in transition. She’s also a willing passer. Next in her development process is continuing to work on her touch/skill on the block, as it’ll only make her more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Smith on Rohkohl: “Maja is a very good post player. She posts hard, displays good feel around the rim, and is a solid finisher. Maja plays extremely hard and blocks shots at a quality rate. Big-time player who should have success with the right coach and program.” Rohkohl proved to be among the top performers on display, securing the Defense Award, and should be a target for various coaches over these next twelve months.
