The Phenom Tourney Town Showcase, sponsored by Healthy Blue NC, has an outstanding event that brought players and fans to the Greensboro area. There was plenty of talent that we have seen countless times before, but there were a few new names that you may want to jot down and learn a little bit more about. Here are a few new names to watch out for.

2026 Adam Grier (HP Christian): Grier is a young prospect that you will want to learn and jot down. The 6’3 prospect has a natural feel for the game at an early age. He has a good understanding of the game, is strong with the ball in his hands, reads the floor and makes good decisions, and has a nice balance of finding his own shot but also being a playmaker for others. Really good IQ for a freshman player.

2026 Janiya Milligan (TW Andrews Girls): We head over to the girl’s side of things, and 2026 6’0 Janiya Milligan has the making of a college-level player with her early flashes as a player.  She catches your attention with her size, but when you learn just how young she is and think about her potential in what she could by the end, there is a lot to like. Milligan does a nice job in making her presence felt both offensively being active around the basket, but also being physical on the boards and a rim-protector. Jot her name down and make sure you watch her in the coming years.

2025 Carlos Neely (Ben L. Smith): Neely is a new name from the event but he left his impression on us after a strong two-day showing. Neely is a sophomore guard that filled the stat sheet with his play. Neely has a nice feel for the game and plays at a nice pace, reading the floor, creating well off the dribble, and finding ways to get inside the defense. When he did, he did a great job in finding ways to get score the ball or dishing it off to his teammates, as his court awareness may go under the radar a bit. The two-sport prospect was a difference-maker on both sides of the floor, as we mentioned, he filled it up all in a variety of ways.

2024 Corey Pate (TW Andrews): Pate is a long, active, and athletic guard that uses his length well.  He played with a great motor and was relentless with his energy, using his long frame to finish over defenders with touch. Pate brings a lot of energy and whether it was penetrating the defense, showcasing his athleticism out in transition, or his defensive impact and motor, Pate is a player that should be a huge piece for his team this year and maybe one to start checking out more.

2026 Dane Cassada (Calvary Day): Cassada is a name that Phenom Hoops has known for some time now but he should be a name that many others start learning around the state. Cassada is a high IQ, strong guard that plays with a great feel for the game. He knows how to step up and be a leader at a young age, isn’t afraid of the spotlight, makes great decisions and reads the floor well, and has a balanced game on the court. Cassada is a player that should only continue to gain traction this season and down the road.
