We got the weekend started here in Charlotte for the George Lynch Invitational presented by Phenom Hoops, as Cannon and Virginia Episcopal squared off to start the thrilling event. Cannon, who is coming off a tough loss last week at the Carmel, came out and made a statement with shots falling early from outside. They were able to jump out to an early double-digit lead after the first half and they continued to pour it on, knocking down threes all over the floor. Virginia Episcopal was able to use its size at times but Cannon flexed their muscle to take a 33-14 halftime lead eventually.

Second half, both teams were strong. Virginia Episcopal continued to battle throughout the game, as 2023 Efe Sekeroglu led the charge, scoring the ball effectively in the second half and staying assertive on the boards. But in the end, the balance and shot-making ability from Cannon was just too much as they were able to maintain their double-digit lead throughout the second half and ultimately won 68-41 to start the weekend off.
