The South Carolina Top 80 really opened some eyes with the talent that was on the court.  There were several new names that jumped out on the court with their play and evaluations will be coming out shortly, but we wanted to continue our coverage of the event as we look at a few players that impressed.

This one is a bit perplexing.  Phenom Hoops has had countless views of 2022 6’2 Lebron Thomas and every single time he has been on the court, this young man produces in a big way.  This is why it is hard to understand why more college programs aren’t looking his way.

At times, it feels like people are coming up with reasons or nit-picking about a player’s game.  But when you watch Thomas on the court, you just have to understand what he brings to the court. Thomas does a tremendous job in bringing a combination of speed, athleticism, and skill set to the floor. He is relentless in getting to the rim and scoring, as well as finishing through contact or getting to the line. Thomas is one of the best players in South Carolina’s 2022 class in getting paint touches and he showed his competitive nature all throughout the SC Top 80.  He also impacts the court in an array of other ways like his ability to set up others, playing bigger and helping on the boards, showing his ability to create in transition, his IQ and quickness, and his defensive presence.

When you talk about Thomas, you simply just have to understand what he brings to the court… don’t overthink Thomas’ game, the proof has been there.  He simply produces and he does it in his own way.  This is why this is still an unsigned senior that needs and should see his recruitment pick up even more.
