Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: DaiJa Turner
Class: 2021
Committed to: Virginia Tech
What the Player Said:
PHR: What made Virginia Tech the place in the end'
Turner: All the coaches that I have talked to during this process were amazing. But what stood out about Virginia Tech was how fast and how close I got with the coaches. From the very beginning, it felt like family and the right place for me. I knew this would be my home from the very beginning. Also, they expressed how much they want to develop me as a player on and off the court. Virginia Tech just felt right.
PHR: What do you think you can provide to that program'
Turner: I believe that I can provide to the program is my energy and my drive towards the game. You can never be too comfortable. I never settle. I strive to get better every day.
PHR: With your decision behind you now, what will you be focusing on with your game'
Turner: Now that I’m committed, my work does not stop here. Continue to grind and work on my game as a whole. I have not reached my full potential, I am not done. My story does not end here. Going to work on my outside game and even work on things I excel in. I am going to put in the work so I can be the best teammate I can be.
Stats Last Season:
This past season at Village Christian Academy, Turner was incredibly dominant averaging 17.8 points, 21.6 rebounds, and 11.7 blocks per game.
