What a weekend of basketball it was at the Phenom Prep Showcase, as there are plenty of storylines to look at from the event.  But the storyline on the top of my mind has been the terrific play of Bull City National, who ended up going undefeated and really opening eyes.

They were able to rack up wins against a strong NC GBB National team, and then again against Franklin Prep and Greater Destiny Prep.

When diving into the team, there were two players that really played at a high level and continued to lead this team in each game. 2024 Chicale Ward and 2023 Abrahm Driver were the leaders who stepped up big for their team throughout, playing at a high level and consistently throughout. Driver, who walked away with an offer from the event, continued to show how fluid he can be on the court as a forward. The 6’7 footwork is light on his feet, moves well without the ball, and shows great touch and production while on the court; he has really elevated his game in a big way over the last year. Ward, a 6’5 versatile prospect, filled up the boxscore with his scoring capabilities from multiple levels, his ability to finish at the rim and to really take advantage of his matchup. Ward averaged 23ppg game at the event, while Driver wasn’t far behind at 21ppg through three games.

But there were others that stepped up as well for their team. Players like 2024 Khyelle Ingram, 2023 Kobe Phantirath, 2023 Enrique Myers, 2023 Zeph Jones, 2023 Xavier McKenzie, and others all played vital roles in the team’s success at the event.

They came into the event locked in and focused, and Bull City National made their presence known with an impressive weekend.
