Finally, we’ve reached the point in the high school season when things begin to shift. Despite all the preseason competition, holiday showcases, and subplots throughout, this time is arguably as exciting as any period in the year. Each game has playoff implications. All kinks should be figured out and teams should be hitting their stride. However, this is also the stretch when college coaches are hunting for potential diamonds in the rough. Although the state is filled with intriguing prospects in every area, folks should be taking note of the intrigue and upside John Little possesses. Let’s take a closer look…

We saw Little multiple times with Wildcats Elite during the travel ball season, but it’s clear that he’s only continued to progress since then. He’s a big, strong-bodied post player with a college-ready frame and the ability to outproduce opponents on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Little knows how to score out of the post, capitalize on drop-offs, and fill the lane to finish in transition. He crashes the offensive glass well to secure second-chance opportunities. Little carves out space really well to control the glass as a rebounder. He absorbs contact really well on either side of the ball and is capable of blocking or altering shots without fouling.

This season, Little is averaging 17.9 PPG, 7.8 RPG, and 3.4 BPG while shooting an incredible 70% from the floor. Although the numbers are impressive, it’s worth noting that he more than doubled his average rebounds and blocks from his junior to senior season. Little has clearly stood out as a focal point for Roxboro Community and still has an obvious amount of untapped potential remaining. Given the value of big men, there should be a lot of different suitors in pursuit of Little.
