The bracket play has been full of excitement throughout the final day of competition at the John Wall Holiday Invitational, and Millbrook versus Farmville Central was potentially the best matchup of them all. These two teams entered this contest after each suffering their first loss of the year, both coming to nationally-ranked squads, and looked to bounce back in a big way. Millbrook came out and immediately jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter, and maintained a two-possession lead until the final minute of halftime. Will Felton was the focal point for Millbrook, Eric van der Heijden continues to take noticeable steps toward stardom, and Jalen McCoy created two-way havoc for the opposition. Meanwhile, Justin Wright and Samage Teel formed the two-headed monster for Farmville Central tonight, absolutely carrying the offensive load and doing so in an efficient manner (especially Teel). Millbrook entered halftime with a 44-42 advantage over Farmville Central.

The second half was more of the same, as Millbrook only continued to expand their lead after Terquavion Smith and Jalen McCoy went down on the same play. Although both players returned to the action, Millbrook had already established a double-digit advantage and did a quality job of maintaining a lead from start to finish, even despite a late run for Farmville Central. Teel (30 points) and Wright (31 points and 9 rebounds) led the way for Farmville Central while Felton (25 points and 14 rebounds), McCoy (21 points and 12 rebounds), and van der Heijden (18 points and 7 rebounds) burdened the load for Millbrook. It was a hard fought battle, as Millbrook claimed an 83-78 victory over Farmville Central.
