Continuing to find gems around the state of North Carolina, we turn our attention towards Leesville Road and a highly intriguing guard who is leading the charge. 2027 6’3 Nylan Rush has been raising a few eyebrows of interest with his play over the last year or so, and he continues to shine this high school season.
Our scout, Patrick O’Brien, recently had a chance to watch Rush back in action, getting an updated viewing of the dynamic guard, where he had this to say:
“2027 Nylan Rush is one who has seen his stock rise and brings a lot of intrigue with his game. With his length and size at his position, Rush was able to get to his spots well and knock down jumpers inside as well as form behind the arc. He is a playmaking guard who sees the floor well, makes good reads, and finds his teammates well off the dribble. He had several big plays for his team in this game.”
Rush brings a nice blend of pace and dynamic playing-ability, showcasing a long frame and good overall athleticism as a 6’3 guard. Rush was able to showcase his playmaking and vision in finding teammates easily, but proved to be a scorer from multiple levels, whether it is hitting tough jumpers with range or attacking off the bounce to get to the rim. Rush plays with confidence with his jumper, rising over defenders with deep range but he understands how to bring value in creating for others, flourishing with his passing ability, his length, and his athleticism.
Right now, he holds an offer from Howard, but his stock has been rising, he continues to develop, and he could be in for a big summer as he will be a player to watch a lot more this season and summer.
