At 5’8, Chandler Taylor doesn’t dazzle anyone in the eye test but all doubts quickly dissolve when you see him live.

At 5’8, Chandler Taylor doesn’t dazzle anyone in the eye test but all doubts quickly dissolve when you see him live.

Taylor is an electrifying floor general; his first step is devastatingly quick, he is a knockdown shooter with serious range, and a gifted passer at this stage. Defensively, Taylor has quick lateral movement and good footwork and he is a pesky defender constantly causing turnovers. Over the weekend, the Virginia native showed composure and leadership while leading Team TTG to a couple impressive wins through bracket play.

On Saturday, Taylor exploded for 20 points while several college assistants looked on at Broome High School. At the next level, Taylor could be dangerous in pick-n-roll sets. One assistant looking on stated, “Taylor could be good in a system that utilizes small guards.”

Currently Taylor is receiving strong interest from several Division III programs but with his skillset and fearless mentality, he seems suited for a higher level of competition. This is a player who comes from a winning pedigree and is capable of contributing immediately.

If Taylor was five inches taller, we probably not even writing this article because he would already be signed somewhere.

In this new age of small ball and positionless players, guys like Taylor can prove to be extremely valuable if used correctly. Keep an eye out because this kid will make some college coach very happy for taking a chance on him.
