Over 115 teams from all over the East Coast will be making their way to Tournament Town to compete in the final live period event of the summer for a chance to gain a little additional exposure in front of a plethora of coaches at all levels. One player to keep an eye on in particular' Chase Johnson from the WV Wildcats 16U squad. This kid can flat-out go.

THOUGHTS ON JOHNSON:
Chase Johnson is definitely a kid people want to keep a close eye on heading into the Summer Havoc Tournament in Greensboro this weekend. When we first discovered Johnson at the Court XIV Exposure Camp in Parkersburg, WV late last month, it was easy to determine that this kid was destined for success. Johnson is a player with an absurd amount of skill on both sides of the ball and an extraordinary amount of raw potential. Offensively, this young brute continuously gets the job done. Whether it’s a mid-range jumper or a finessed tomahawk jam at the basket, Johnson never fails to disappoint. One thing we noticed is that his ball handling has significantly improved over the course of the summer. He went from clumsy this past June, to an absolute hoss at CP3 Live. Defensively, Johnson is a ferocious rim protector with a sensational rebounding ability. Whenever a shot goes up, you can expect this Ripley Viking to bring it down. Johnson might not look the stereotypical part of “baller”, but it’s safe to say this kid brings his all every single time he steps foot on the hardwood. Johnson has already received several offers this summer including one this past weekend from Marshall University. If he can continue to get stronger and develop a little stronger offensive game, expect that offer count to soar.
