Team 2
Head Coach Jerome Stewart of Timberland High School

#2 5’8” 2016 Jackson Hurston of St James High School (Murrells Inlet)

Each time Hurston steps onto the floor you can tell he is having fun. He is a bowling ball of energy on both ends of the floor, and carries his football mentality in his pocket each time out. Hurston is very vocal on defense and displayed the ability to, not only take care of the ball, but score at multiple levels. Hurston’s camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Jackson is very strong with the ball and he engages the defender, on offense, with physicality.” Hurston is a natural leader who simply gets the job done.

#18 6’ 2016 Zach Sellers of Cheraw High School

Sellers is the consummate point guard, attacking the basket with his head up and finding team mates on a dime. Sellers is quick on quick, and showed the consistent ability to get into the lane. Once there he would (almost to a fault) look to find his open team mate for a bucket. Sellers’ camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “The ability and skill level are there, I would like to see him look for his own shot more.” Sellers is a very productive guard that finds himself winning a lot of games. Kids like to play with him.

#19 6’ 2019 Jalen Williams of Pinewood Prep (Charleston)

Williams was confident from the first whistle in camp. He took well to coaching and displayed a quality basketball IQ. What stood out the most about Williams was his quickness with the ball in his hands. While he should continue to get stronger, he was able to get into the paint consistently. Williams’ amp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Jalen liked to have the ball in his hands and his quickness is a weapon that simply cannot be ignored.” For being so young, Williams has a lot of tools and poise to work with. He is one to put on your SIM Card and start tracking now.

#40 6’3” 2017 Luke Brenegan of Wade Hampton High School (Greenville)

Brenegan came into camp with a very positive attitude and right away took to coaching with noticeable effort. He displayed a very high IQ moving off the ball, and hunting for his shot. Brenegan had great form, a quick release, and deep range shooting off the catch. Brenegan’s camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Luke can really shoot the ball, I would like to see him work on his ability to create off the bounce.”

#41 6’3” 2016 Cameron Holmes of Nations Ford High School (Rock Hill)

Effort and energy were two words that any person in attendance would be able to use to describe Holmes’ approach to the game. Offensively Holmes looked the most comfortable attacking the mid-range and in, but defensively he was all over the court, creating havoc at multiple positions. Holmes’ camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Cameron’s energy brings and enthusiasm to the game that you just cannot coach!” Holmes is a collegiate wing prospect and should be recruited as such.

#58 6’5” 2016 Noah Dean Southside Christian (Simpsonville)

It is apparent that Dean is a coach’s son, he plays a very high IQ game with great effort. Dean also showed that he knew how to score the basketball, as he finished in the camp’s top 15 in scoring. Dean was able to get to the rim and shot the ball well from 15 out to 22 feet. Dean’s camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Noah was easy to coach, he listened well and spoke up when needed. He knew where he needed to get on the court.” Dean is a college level shooting guard and his recruitment should reflect that.

#59 6’5” 2017 AJ Oliver of Daniel High School (Central)

Oliver was perhaps the breakout player of the camp. He finished 5th in the camp in scoring, at 17 per game, but he did so in a very skillful way. Oliver has great size and does not lack any kind of confidence. His best attribute is his ability to really stroke the ball with deep range. Oliver’s camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “AJ can really light it up!” Oliver comes from great bloodline as his mother is the head coach at Clemson. He currently carries high major offers, and should enter national top 100 rankings in the near future.

#70 6’6” 2017 Eli Lake of Blythewood High School

Because of his size, Lake inevitably gets caught guarding the opposing team’s post players. He carries great length and a high motor on defense that allows him to do so. However, make no mistake about it Lake is a shooting guard at the next level. Lake has soft touch with deep range and the ability to get his shot off quickly. Lake’s camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “Eli is going to have to bulk up but his soft hands and touch are a major strength.” Lake can score at all three levels, rebounds his position well, and can create for himself. With claimed offers from USC-Upstate, Navy, and Coastal Carolina, more D1 schools need to be getting in the game.

#99 6’10” 2017 Deshawn Thomas of AC Flora High School (Columbia)

Perhaps the most intriguing player in the camp. Thomas wields a 7’4” wing span, with a frame that could still be growing, and good athleticism. While his offense was pretty much put backs and short corner lobs, his defense and rebounding ability excelled. Thomas’ camp coach Jerome Stewart stated, “While Deshawn needs to continue to refine his offensive game, defensively and rebounding fundamentals he is already at a high level.” Thomas does a great job protecting the paint, and as he continues to gain strength and confidence his stock could soar. Local D1s need to take note ASAP, before regional schools come into play.
