AAU Coach Evaluation: Jahliel is the heart beat to any team he plays on, he will elevate the intensity and level of play of your team. His versatility is his best quality. He can guard four positions on the floor and also play four positions on offense. Intense defender who will take on challenges at all times. His athleticism is tremendous. He averaged a double/double which is a great accomplishment for his size and frame. He has worked tirelessly on his jump shot which has improved and will only get better. Very unselfish player who doesn’t mind sacrificing for the team. The ultimate teammate! I enjoyed coaching Jahliel and I can’t wait to see him on the biggest stages. He deserves it and any coach will enjoy his presence in the locker room and on the floor. – Kashif Johnson, TribeNation Basketball Academy
HS Coach Evaluation: Jahliel is an extremely active and high motor young man. His bounce is incredible and his willingness to play wherever he is needed is incredible. He will play in the post for us and is willing to do the dirty work for the sake of the team. I think his best attribute is that his lateral quickness is fantastic. He is another low maintenance young man who has a great work ethic and is extremely loyal. He will be a load to handle for most teams because he will out jump most guards and will out quick most bigs. He played JV last year so his upside is through the roof. Excited to see how he progresses with a full year of varsity basketball. – Coach Ben Moore, Head Coach – Menchville High School
Coach Frank says: What a great commodity for a team to have; a strong and athletic player who can handle and create his own shot and score, who can also rip a rebound off the glass and lead the break, who can hit the jumper, who also defends the perimeter and the paint and who brings great energy on every possession. That’s Menchville’s Jahliel Jones! Jahliel plays much taller than 6’2 as he has great bounce and is quick off his feet. He has long arms and a strong upper body and has a nose for the basketball. He is so active defensively not only snatching rebounds away from opponents but also defending the perimeter, playing solid on ball defense and also picking off passes from his defensive help posture. Jahliel’s versatility is impressive and his willingness to do what his team needs him to do for team success is even more impressive. He has very good guard skills and can score at the rim and while on the move. He can produce at every position on the floor which is a testament to his skill level and talent and to his tremendous athleticism. I predict more than a few double/double performances and don’t be surprised to see a few triple/doubles in his high school basketball future. Jahliel is an exciting player, an energy giver and a talented prospect worthy of attention from college coaches.
