Out in the Greensboro area, it was a battle between Dudley and SW Guilford, as Dudley looked for a marquee road win against a strong SW Guilford team. Dudley came out strong behind the play of White, leading by double-digits at the end of the first quarter. SW Guilford, though, was able to get the guard play going with Gatling but still found themselves down 39-30 at halftime. Gatling continued to attack and score effectively off the bounce, while Howze and company got things going as well, as they were able to regain the lead by the end of the third quarter. IT was a tight battle throughout the fourth with Dudley being right there, but SW Guilford was able to hold on for the narrow 68-64 win.
Standouts:
SW Guilford
- 2027 Brayden Gatling was tremendous in this game, putting his team on his back and really stepping up once again as a scorer. He does a great job in being able to create off the bounce, picking his spots, getting to his mid-range spots, but also finishing strong around defenders with contact. He did all his damage in attacking the defense, especially in the second half, where he scored 18 of his 31 points.
- 2028 Darrell Howze had a slow start but got things going in the second half, as he continues to bring intrigue with his positional size. As a big guard, he was able to eventually get things going, getting to the rim and finishing in the second half, scoring 12 of his 16 points in the second half to be a big help in the win.
Dudley
- 2026 Sherrod White is a player I’ve highlighted before with his production and he didn’t disappoint once again. He came out strong and played with a great motor, moving well throughout the floor and getting inside to score, as well as finishing in transition. He continues to bring versatility with his size, operating well inside and finishing with touch, as well as being able to operate from other levels. Simply loved his effort throughout this game.
- 2026 Christian Daye really opened up the offense for this Dudley team, as he thrived in playing off the ball, finding his open spots in the corner, and being a constant threat from behind the arc. Daye looked for his shot from outside, hitting some big shots from outside as well as picking his spots to attack. But he played a big part in his team nearly walking out with a win.
