Nothing like Championship Sunday, as teams looked to cap off a terrific weekend of basketball in Rock Hill with a little hardware from the Phenom G3 Showcase. Overall, the competition was fantastic and players came to compete, as we recap each championship showdown from the event.
Back down in the Arena Court for the 17u White Division, Charlotte Royals 202 and Big Shots SC Premier matched up in what was an absolute show. Charlotte Royals came out strong to jump out to an early lead led by Marcus Willis and Xavier McKelvy but Big Shots was simply too talented and started to chip away and eventually take the lead in the second half. That is when 2022 Xavier McKelvy simply took over, scoring 22 of his 33 points in the second half to help his team to an 80-71 victory.
