There is so much talent to be found around the state of North Carolina, of all levels… and Phenom Hoops continues to bring the best coverage around for players to be seen. At the North Carolina Top 80 recently, many premier prospects attended the camp and put their game on full display. But it also allowed others to rise up to the occasion and showcase that they belong as well. 2027 6’3 Romain Boyer has been a proven piece since coming to North Carolina, and expect him to continue to lead this upcoming season.
Boyer is the type of player who consistently impacts winning without demanding the spotlight. His ability to thrive in a low-maintenance role allows him to seamlessly complement any lineup. Offensively, Boyer’s smooth perimeter shooting stands out, as he spaces the floor with confidence and punishes defenders who leave him open. He moves with purpose, constantly cutting, relocating, and finding seams within the defense to create scoring opportunities. Beyond his shooting touch, Boyer shows strong awareness and a natural feel for the flow of the game, making the right reads and contributing in the little areas that often go unnoticed. Defensively, his high motor and activity level allow him to stay engaged, contest shots, and provide steady effort on every possession. Overall, Boyer’s blend of efficiency, feel, and motor make him a reliable and winning piece on both ends of the floor.
NC Top 80 Evaluation:
“Next, Romain Boyer is a 6-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2027. Given his ability to produce in a low-maintenance role, it was easy to appreciate what he brought to the table. Boyer is a smooth-shooting threat who doesn’t require a ton of touches to make his presence felt. He moved well without the ball to find open seams, knock down jumpers, and fill in the gaps as needed. Boyer possesses a high motor and quality feel for the game on both ends of the floor. Next in his development process is working to improve his playmaking instincts, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Jones on Boyer: “Romain can shoot it well from the perimeter. Better from beyond the arc but capable from midrange. Displayed a decent handle and solid nose for the ball as a rebounder.” Boyer enjoyed a solid showing at camp and should be a key piece for Concord Academy over the next two seasons.”
