What does the commitment mean to Penn State:
I absolutely love this get for Penn State; not only do they get a Top 50 prospect in the country, but they get a player that can truly help this program in a variety of ways. Phenom Hoops has watched Mingo on several occasions before, and he always brings a winning attitude and toughness to the court. When we have watched him, we have had this to say:
“Each time I watch this guard in action, the more and more I really like his game. Plays under control, makes good reads and sees the floor, finds the open spots on the floor and has a confident release from multiple levels on the floor. His game continues to rise and elevate, as he not only can make plays for himself but also for others on the court.”
“He consistently is a scoring presence on the court, as he shows confidence in hitting from all levels. Was able to go 4-fo-6 from behind the arc on Monday, but also created well and made strong plays, and was active on the defensive end.”
Mingo is competitive, plays with a ton of energy, and is a competitor, something that will a big factor for Penn State in the coming years. He can physically create for himself, embraces contact, and plays with a motor on both sides of the ball. He is strong off the dribble but can truly be impactful as a multi-level guard, and one that plays hard on the defensive end. Each time we have watched him, he brings a winning mentality to the court for his team.
