6’6 Justice Mitchell (Strong Center)
Although we featured Mitchell yesterday, his production and generally impactful two-way identity cannot be ignored. His versatility naturally causes matchup problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. At 6-foot-6, Mitchell is too strong and athletic for perimeter players and too mobile and skilled to be contained by forwards or big men. He can reliably pass, dribble, and score in a variety of ways. Mitchell plays with great energy, both on the glass and when toggling between multiple positions defensively. Clearly a scholarship-level piece, it’ll be interesting to see where he furthers his playing career.
6’3 Jimmy Zimmerman (Strong Center)
There were plenty of intriguing prospects within Strong Center’s roster, which includes Zimmerman and his well-rounded game. He’s a tough, scrappy guard with size and the ability to operate in various different roles. Zimmerman can initiate the offense, play without the ball, or effectively create off the dribble. He mixes it up well as a scorer while showing the ability to make the extra pass and do the dirty work whenever possible. Zimmerman doesn’t shy away from physical play.
6’3 Gabe Erbeck (Team Vision)
It’s really peculiar that Erbeck doesn’t have more action within his recruitment, especially as a shot-maker who can fill it up in a hurry along the perimeter. He’s a tough, crafty scorer who can reliably create for himself and others or find opportunities as a cutter and spot-up threat. Erbeck isn’t limited to perimeter jumpers, as he’s able to attack closeouts and make reads, pull up off the bounce, or finish at the rim. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and that’s evident through his motor and generally rugged approach defensively. Erbeck should appeal to various programs.
6’2 Jermaine Cunningham (East Carolina Elite)
After a season where he led Swansboro to a 25-2 record, Cunningham should have way more traction with college coaches. He’s a smart, well-rounded guard and natural leader by example. Cunningham understands how to dictate the action as a primary creator, displaying great balance between scoring and playmaking. Cunningham is a terrific penetrator who breaks down opponents to get downhill and finish or set up others. He can knock down jumpers at a solid rate but is arguably at his best attacking the basket or applying pressure in transition. Cunningham also stands out as a quality defender and rebounder for his size. He will carve out a role wherever he ends up.
6’2 Garrett Morgan (Cap City Charlotte)
Rounding out this group, Morgan made a lasting impression with his play throughout the weekend. He showed the ability to consistently touch the paint and play off two feet, whether finishing or kicking out to open teammates. Morgan displays a crafty handle and solid pace when attacking off the bounce. He’s a capable shooter and overall threat without the ball in his hands. Morgan displays nice energy on defense and rebounds well for his position. He could be a useful late addition for a variety of programs.
