#53: 5’11 ’27 Daniel Wright (JF Webb)

Starting off, we look at a player who showcased his ability to run a team as a leader, Daniel Wright. He’s a smart, high-motor guard prospect with a tight handle and sharp playmaking sense. Wright touches the paint at a high volume, where he’s able to finish or effectively set up others. That being said, he also knocks down midrange jumpers at a strong percentage and can space the floor from beyond the arc. Wright stood out as a reliable defender at the point of attack and contained his assignment well. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Anderson on Wright: “Daniel is a vocal leader with very good potential in his game as a floor general. Does a lot of the little things well.” Wright enjoyed a quality showing at camp and should be a focal point for JF Webb over the coming years.

#72: 6’1 ’27 Hunter McGrath (Hoggard)

Next, we look at a player who highlighted an understanding of how to set the tone on both ends of the floor, Hunter McGrath. He’s a smart, scrappy guard prospect with a high motor and unselfish approach to the game. McGrath is an excellent ball-handler with vision, penetration ability, and shooting prowess. He’s at his best when dictating the action but also finds success as a cutter and spot-up threat. McGrath plays with strong energy on defense and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would allow him to become a more physically imposing player. Coach Anderson on McGrath: “Hunter does well in the half-court and moves well without the ball to find openings for his shot. Lethal shooter with unlimited range.” McGrath made a nice impact during camp and should be poised for a highly productive season at Hoggard.

#73: 6’1 ’27 Jeremy Duhon (Gaston Christian)

Moving forward, we look at a player who continues to make strides with each new viewing, Jeremy Duhon. He’s a smart, unselfish guard prospect who makes a consistent impact through his knockdown shooting and strong two-way energy. Duhon has made clear strides as a ball-handler and playmaker, but is still a lethal marksman from beyond the arc. He’s comfortable attacking off the bounce and finishing or pulling up from midrange. Duhon is a quality defender who routinely outworks opponents to make hustle plays. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more reliable creator. Coach Anderson on Duhon: “Jeremy is a tremendous shooter who only needs a small amount of space to get his shot off. Possesses high defensive IQ and shooting ability.” Duhon did a lot of things well at camp and should be a huge x-factor for Gaston Christian over these next few seasons.

#84: 6’2 ’27 Cruz Miller (Cox Mill)

Continuing forward, we look at a player who has all the makings of a potential breakout candidate, Cruz Miller. He’s a smooth, skilled, dynamic guard prospect with a high IQ, nonstop motor, and polished scoring arsenal. Miller creates well for himself and others off the bounce and scores the ball at a healthy rate from all levels. He’s a willing playmaker with an understanding of how to generate openings for his teammates. Miller utilizes his sharp quickness to mirror his assignment defensively at the point of attack. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would open him up to even more scoring opportunities. Coach Anderson on Miller: “Cruz is explosive on both ends of the floor. Very quick off the bounce and at getting to his spots. Did well showing off his perimeter shooting while still attacking the basket at a high volume.” Miller proved to be an asset during camp and should be a clear focal point for Cox Mill going forward.

#97: 6’3 ’27 Alex Dauska (Charlotte Latin)

Next, we look at a player who made a lasting impression through his ability to constantly impact the game, Alex Dauska. He’s a strong, versatile, well-rounded wing/forward prospect who can do everything on the court. Dauska scored from all levels, initiated the offense as needed, and found success with or without the ball in his hands. He’s capable of defending multiple positions, including much bigger than his listed height, and consistently outworking opponents on the glass. Dauska is an unselfish, adaptable teammate who can produce in various roles. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would make him a more explosive penetrating threat. Coach Anderson on Dauska: “Alex is another lights-out shooter who did well to showcase his range along the perimeter. Strong defender who plays hard and does the little things. Uses his body well on both ends of the floor.” Dauska enjoyed a quality showing at camp and should be a difference-maker for Charlotte Latin over the coming years.

#100: 6’3 ’27 Karon Watlington (Burlington Christian)

Moving forward, we look at a player who continues to show strides within his progression, Karon Watlington. He’s a long, smart guard prospect who knows how to initiate the offense or play without the ball. Watlington showed the ability to consistently knock down shots from beyond the arc, but also attacked closeouts and finished or made the extra pass. He handled the ball with poise and made unselfish decisions as a creator. Watlington utilized his length well to be disruptive defensively. He also rebounds effectively for his size/position. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would make him a more physically imposing player on both ends of the floor. Coach Anderson on Watlington: “Karon is a wiry prospect who showed off his versatility. Offers a strong two-way presence on the wing. He has a bright future.” Watlington made his presence felt throughout camp and could be poised for a highly productive sophomore season with the Royals.

#141: 6’4 ’27 Julian Lowe (Jordan)

Continuing forward, we look at a player who made a lasting impression with his lethal perimeter shooting, Julian Lowe. He’s a strong, versatile wing/forward prospect who can operate in several types of roles. Lowe spaces the floor at a high level, but also attacks well off the bounce and makes solid decisions with the ball. He offers a smart, high-motor presence defensively and is capable of containing bigger opponents on a regular basis. Lowe works to make hustle plays and fill in the gaps however possible, but can also expand his production as needed. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would make him a better defender against smaller guards. Coach Anderson on Lowe: “Julian is a lights-out shooter who put on quite the show with his marksman ability from beyond the arc. He could score the ball from all levels with ease. Very shifty shooter.” Lowe did a lot of things well at camp and should be a key piece for Jordan during his upcoming sophomore season.

#146: 6’4 ’27 Seth Harris (Western Guilford)

Next, we look at a player who should have a breakout season over the coming months, Seth Harris. He’s a long, athletic wing prospect with great size, toughness, and two-way energy. Harris is capable of hitting shots along the perimeter, attacking the basket, and making decisions with the ball in his hands. He’s a useful cutter who moves well without the ball to find open seams within the defense. Harris displays nice instincts defensively to force turnovers and push the break in transition. He also secures rebounds at a solid rate. Next in his development process is working on his craftiness as a ball-handler, as it would make him a more reliable creator. Coach Anderson on Harris: “Seth is very strong around the painted area. Can operate inside and out with his length and frame. Scores the ball in various ways and defends with solid energy.” Harris made his presence felt during camp and should have a highly productive sophomore season as the clear focal point for Western Guilford.

#155: 6’6 ’27 Kam Witherspoon (New Hanover)

Moving forward, we look at a player who possesses an enticing crossroads between productivity and long-term upside, Kam Witherspoon. He’s a long, athletic forward prospect with a high motor and quality feel for the game. Witherspoon excels at securing position in the post and asserting his scoring presence with his back to the basket. He displays soft touch, quality footwork, and an understanding of how to utilize his body to his advantage. Witherspoon is a terrific rebounder and engaged defender who frequently outworks opponents for extra possessions. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities. Coach Anderson on Witherspoon: “Kam is a long, wiry athlete who showed off his energy and motor around the rim and painted area. Did a lot of things well but shot mechanics will be a key in his continued development.” Witherspoon found ways to make an impact during camp and should be a difference-maker for New Hanover going forward.

#159: 6’7 ’27 Braden Miller (Lake Norman)

Finishing up, we look at a player who continues to make strides in his overall progression, Braden Miller. He’s a strong, skilled forward/post prospect with the ability to space the floor or apply pressure from the block. Miller displays excellent footwork and soft touch around the basket. He’s a reliable finisher who sees the floor well and makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. Miller shined with his defensive presence, blocking and altering a ton of shots and properly running the floor in transition. He also secured rebounds at a high volume. Next in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him a better defender when switching onto smaller guards. Coach Anderson on Miller: “Braden cleaned up the glass well and did work in the painted area. Displays a strong arsenal with his back to the basket.” Miller enjoyed a strong showing at camp and should be able to emerge as a meaningful piece for Lake Norman during the upcoming season.
