THOUGHTS ON MCHUGH:
Taylor McHugh possesses a skillset that coaches strive for their players to achieve. He simply wants to make every player around him better. McHugh runs the floor well, and always finds a way to get the job done. He has incredible handles and a beautiful jump shot with the ability to play off the ball if necessary. McHugh is a freakish athlete. He was the Quarterback for the VES 2013 State Champion football team and led VES in basketball to the VISAA State Tournament semi-finals last year. Taylor is ambidextrous; he throws the football and writes right-handed, but has a sleek, left hand jumper very similar to Memphis Grizzlies point guard, Mike Conley. Off the court, McHugh is leader around campus and inside the classroom. He currently holds a 3.1 accumulative GPA, and is known as a key figure around his prestigious central Virginia boarding school. Simply put, Taylor McHugh can do it all. After watching his progression over the past few seasons, we have noticed that he plays with tremendous passion. Taylor strives for a win every game—a true team player. He uses his phenomenal moves and athleticism to dribble himself out of any tough situation. Defensively, he is a scorer’s nightmare. McHugh plays defenders really tight, and always manages to stay out of foul trouble. He is a true game changer on both ends of the floor. Mid-Major coaches REALLY need to take a look at this kid! He can play with the best and has quickly proven to be one of Virginia’s most elite point guards.
