High School Coach Evaluation:
Nathaniel Pollard Jr. is a young man that will continue to be a success in life. There are quite a few indicators that give me this opinion about Nate; his love for family is a joy to watch, his parents are remarkable people and the way they have raised their children should be an example for all parents. I am extremely proud to have been a part of watching this young man develop into the person he is today. Any university that has the opportunity to have this young man on their campus will definitely improve the academic and athletic culture. I would trade a state championship every year to have a Nathaniel Pollard Jr. on my team! Nathaniel is a five position player here at Highland Springs High School, he is a returning all conference player with unbelievable versatility. At 6’5 he can beat you off the dribble and put you on his back in the paint if need be. His desire and work ethic has made him one of the top player’s in our area and for that matter in the state. If I were a college coach looking for a multidimensional guard/forward, Nathaniel Pollard, Jr’s name would be high on my list. I can’t convey this point too much; he is a QUALITY young man! The leadership that he brings to our team permeates through the player’s and the staff. I expect him to lead the team and conference in almost every category on the stat sheet. I will leave you this, “DON’T MISS SEEING NATHANIEL POLLARD JR. PLAY” this year or you will miss a pure delight! – Coach Reggie Tennyson, Highland Springs High School Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach

Coach Frank says:
Nathaniel is a powerfully built forward with long arms and very good bounce. He is immoveable when he posts inside or boxes out but also has a great deal of athleticism and quickness that allows him to defend multiple positions. He is a walking double/double as he averaged 18ppg and 12rpg last season! Nathaniel pounds the glass on both ends of the floor and brings great energy and effort. Using his long arms he is able to snag rebounds outside his area, he also gets off the floor quickly. Nathaniel can score with his back to the basket but also handles well enough to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim where he can fight off contact and finish. He is a smart and competent playmaker as he makes good use of his dribble and is a triple threat with good passing skills, a very good mid ranger jumper and a punishing finisher at the rim. I watched him at a recent camp in skill sessions and he demonstrated the ability to hit the jumper at an impressive rate. Nathaniel does the little things that don’t show up on stat sheets, he passes well out of double teams and finds the open man and he is a very good screener. He communicates and plays hard every play. College coaches should add Nathaniel Pollard to their watch list. He has the body, athleticism and versatility few others can match, he has a great feel and he outworks his opponent. He is a definite D1/D2 prospect!
