High School Coach Evaluation: Xavier is a high character honor student-athlete. He’s had a phenomenal summer changing his body, getting in unbelievable shape and really elevating his skill level. Xavier is a natural born floor general who’s accepted my challenge of being more vocal and aggressive offensively. Xavier can defend multiple positions, is a very good rebounder for his position and really understands when to push pace/when to slow it down. He is due for a breakout senior year and I can’t wait to watch him evolve. – Coach Stef Welsh, Head Basketball Coach, Woodside High School
Coach Frank says: Xavier is a throwback point guard and has a great feel for the game. He is a high IQ floor general, takes care of the basketball, sees the floor, communicates and he defends at a high level. Xavier executes the offense and distributes the ball making great decisions and controlling tempo. He is undeterred by ball pressure and is able to dominate the space between him and his defender using a reliable handle and crafty ball handling skills. He is a very good passer, has a pass first mentality and keeps teammates involved. Xavier can get to the rim off the bounce where he is a dual threat to score and to find open teammates. He is an excellent defender both on ball and off. He has good quickness, lateral mobility and great anticipation. Xavier not only brings sound game management skills and understanding of the game to the court, he is physically quick and strong. A solid contributor on one of the areas winningest programs over the last couple of seasons, Xavier should solidify himself among the top guard prospects in the 2018 class.
