High School Coach Evaluation: Malik can flat out shoot the ball from anywhere. He’s one of the purest shooters I have ever coached at Prince George. Very athletic, and can finish around the rim if need be. Average defender, but working hard to get better, and have an opportunity to play at the next level. Coach Frank says: Malik Nash can flat out score! He can hit the three and is a very good three point shooter, he can it the mid range jumper, catch and shoot, off the dribble, hit the floater, finish with contact…he can score and score in bunches! He is ball quick, catches the ball shot ready, quick release. Hits contested shots! I am impressed with his basketball skills and elite athleticism. He is a long armed and rangy athlete with quick feet and great bounce! Malik is a shifty ball handler who navigates the floor as if he were floating as he uses quick stops and starts, explosive acceleration, quick on change of direction moves and it all looks so effortless. He is a good passer and demonstrates the ability to play either guard position but seems more effective at the shooting guard position. He has takeover ability offensively. Coach Carr says Malik is one of the purest shooters he has had at Prince George HS which is more impressive as this is a Coach who put all of his seniors from the 2016 team in college playing basketball at the next level.
