Moravian Prep Captures 3rd Place in the TJ Warren Bracket 

Playing for 3rd place in the TJ Warren Bracket of the John Wall Holiday Invitational, we have Moravian Prep going against Callaway (MS) Both teams won opening round games, but Moravian Prep fell to national power Hillcrest Prep while Callaway lost to hometown Word of God (Raleigh).  Moravian Prep comes into the contest with a 16-1 record while Callaway sports a 10-3 record. 

First Half

It was fairly well played first half for Moravian Prep as they took a comfortable 30-19 lead over Callaway. For Moravian Prep, the trio of Josh Hall, Jahamri Harvey , and Amarie Haynie tallied nine and eight points respectively. Moravian went 12-29 from the floor, 5-12 from the 3-point line. In addition, they dished out six assists and only committed one turnover. For Callaway, Daeshun Ruffin led the way with eight points. Callaway went 8-22 from the and struggled from the 3-point line, going only 1-7.

Second Half

The big storyline in the second half was the defensive play of Moravian Prep. Callaway could not establish any offensive rhythm or consistency and Moravian Prep was in complete control of the game on both ends of the court as they claimed a 62-48 win. 

Summary

Moravian Prep is now 17-1 for the season with their lone loss coming at the hands of Hillcrest Prep. That being said, Moravian Prep is one of the better teams in the country. They feature NC State signees Josh Hall and Shakeel Moore, but more importantly coach Antonio Lowe has done a superb job of getting the team to buy in to the “team first” approach as nine different players got into the scoring action.  In addition, they have the length, athleticism and defensive presence to compete with any team in the country. Moravian Prep was led by Josh Hall and Jahmari Harvey with 14 and 13 points respectively while Daeshun Ruffin finished with a game high 31 points.
