As the recruiting calendar continues to move and future rosters begin to take shape, there are still impact players available who deserve serious attention from Division I programs. Whether due to late development, increased production, or continued growth throughout the season, these prospects are proving they can play at the next level. Here are five must-watch players who remain on the board and should be firmly on the radar of college coaches as late recruiting targets.

2026 6’11 Cody Peck – Davidson Day
Ranked as the highest prospect in the Class of 2026, it is easy to see the appeal with Peck; we are talking about a 6’11 fluid forward that runs the floor, has tremendous athleticism and length, finishes at the rim effortlessly, can operate inside and out, and is a strong defensive presence as well in blocking shots. He has had several highlight-reel games this season, which is why schools are still targeting him for 2026, and more could enter the picture with roster movements.

2026 6’8 Elhadji Diallo – Combine Academy
Diallo is back in North Carolina, and every time we have seen him, he is one who finds ways to produce. As a 6’8 forward, Diallo continues to shine with his ability to be a strong, physical presence on the court. He finishes well through contact, plays with a strong motor on the glass, displays touch and feel in creating for himself, and is comfortable enough to step out at times. Diallo has consistently demonstrated that he is a D1 target for college coaches.

2026 6’4 Caleb Jones – Moravian Prep
Jones may be the sneakiest guard in the state of North Carolina that D1 programs should be looking at more. Highly underrated, Jones has simply proven and shown the ability to be a true scoring factor on the court. An effective and efficient guard, Jones can be a big threat from the perimeter with his ability to knock down shots as well as make plays off the bounce. He plays hard and makes those extra effort players that college coaches would love; true competitor that D1 should look at again.

2026 6’1 Cameron Newman – Gaston Christian
We have said this countless times, and Newman has simply backed it up with his play all season long. Putting his team on his back on so many occasions, Newman has been on a “proving himself” type season, as the point guard has been a tremendous playmaker, makes great reads, understands how to run an offense, and steps up as the clear scorer for his team that they need. It really isn’t hard to see the value that Newman brings to the court.

2026 6’5 Dacen Petty – Christ School
Petty has been one who has clearly developed and gotten better as a player. Helping lead Christ School in a big way, Petty’s confidence on the court has shined all season long with his ability to attack downhill, finish at the rim with authority, pick his spots for his jumper, or being a threat in catch-and-shoot situations from behind the arc. Petty may have been a late developer, but he has proven himself time after time this season.
