6’3 ’17 Jordan Perkins has kind of been the “forgotten” player in the past on the multi-talented NCISAA 3A State champions Greensboro Day, but that won’t be the case this coming season.
All during the process, you never once heard him complain. Perkins is a tireless worker in the gym perfecting his game and like many of his teammates, strides only to get better and improve. In speaking with Coach Freddy Johnson, he stated “Jordan is our most improved player. He has gotten better all summer and he will replace a really good PG this season.”
We first observed Perkins in 2012 when he attended the NC Junior Phenom camp. We stated, “Perkins is a quick and athletic PG that plays with effort, passion and hustle and did exactly that in all three camp games. He is a true competitor and has a high desire to excel and win, which is a nice attribute for such a young player.
These strong characteristics are the driving force in making Perkins who he is today. He’s a no nonsense type of player. He has a strong work ethic and has transitioned his game from a shooting guard to that of being a true floor general.
We particularly like his court vision and ability to read and make plays. More importantly, he’s a team first player and makes his teammates better which is what you want out of the PG position.
He will anchor the PG position for Greensboro Day this season and we expect really good things from him. He understands what it takes to win and he demonstrates equal ability on both ends of the court.
