There might not be a name rising up the ranks faster than St. Anne’s-Belifield (Va.) forward than Javin DeLaurier.
DeLaurier has been impressive all offseason with his play, as Phenom Hoops was able to watch the power forward recently at the David Rose Memorial Classic.
DeLaurier, who plays with Team Loaded VA, showed an impressive game and motor throughout the camp, as he has been a recruit that elite programs have been really taking notice of recently.
The latest program to jump on board is Louisville, as it was announced on Twitter that the Cardinals were the latest to offer the young man after taking a visit this past weekend.
He now has offers from schools such as California, North Carolina, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Miami (FL), Clemson, Xavier, CIncinnati, Notre Dame, Marquette, Baylor, Boston College, Vanderbilt, and several more.
The Cardinals was his second visit this weekend, as he also took an unofficial to Vanderbilt as well.
Want to find out more about DeLaurier from Phenom Hoops, here is what we said about the talented forward recently.
Montgomery-Delaurier is a long and athletic forward whose best skill is his motor. He does all of the things, on the court, that take courage and ‘want to’. Montgomery-Delaurier is a great rebounder, both in and out of his area. He is a top level defender, both on the perimeter and in the post. He routinely finishes with KJ McDaniels type stat lines of 10+ boards, 5+ steals, and 5+ blocks.
Offensively, Montgomery-Delaurier’s game is expanding by the day. He is able to catch it free throw line extended, and put it on the floor. Montgomery-Delaurier’s best work is done in transition and in the short corner, where he finishes well above the rim and loves contact.
Delaurier is ranked #3 in the latest Phenom Hoops Virginia rankings for 2016.
