This was the fifteenth edition of the Fall NC Phenom 150 Exposure Camp. A foundation built over 15 years, has created this as the region’s top exposure camp, and the word has spread like wild fire. This camp SOLD OUT with 190 campers showing up from 9 different states. To say the competition was stiff would be an understatement.

Here is who showed out.

6’6″ 2020 Traymond Willis Shaw
Westover HS (Fayetteville, NC)

Willis Shaw walks onto the floor and looks like a million bucks. Equipped with a 7 foot wing span, Willis Shaw is a good athlete and played the entire day with great motor. He shot the ball well off the catch and really displayed a great defensive acumen. There is a lot of upside here and he continues to get better. He is above the rim and his ball skills are rapidly improving. D1s should get by Westover High School and take a look.

6’9″ 2020 Dean Reiber
Northwest Guilford HS (Greensboro, NC)

Reiber has been a fast riser over the past year, and it looks as if he is continuing on his upward ascension. Reiber stands every bit of 6’9″ and carries a bouncy and lengthy frame. He spent his entire day, above the rim and showcased the ability to line up from different areas on the floor to attack. Reiber walked away with the Camp’s MVP award and is sure to have many more offers join the likes of Rice, College of Charleston and High Point over his next two years of high school.

6’7″ 2022 Shane Fernald
Mount Pleasant HS (Concord, NC)

Fernald has been a name we have heard a lot about, and seen a lot of, over the past few months. Coming through the middle school ranks he was big and skilled. Well he is still that, but his game has really polished up. Able to pick and pop, push the break and really pass the ball, Fernald has a unique skill set for a play his age, at his size. Only entering his freshman year, he is a player D1 schools need to put on their radar to make a point to get out and see.

6’11” Unsigned Senior David Elien
Chapel Hill HS (Chapel Hill, NC)

Elien has incredibly valuable skills, and they come naturally. He has great length and mobility/explosion to pair with a great set of hands that seem to catch everything and touch which he showed consistently extends out to 18 feet. Even though he just started playing basketball recently, the tools are certainly there, OH YEAH and he is a high academic kid who already has numerous college credits with dreams of being a doctor. A special kid off the court and a chance to be a Defensive Player of the Year at a D1 school on the court. Elien was offered by Winthrop the day after his performance at camp.

6’3″ 2021 Walter Ghaffar
Fayetteville Academy (Fayetteville, NC)

Ghaffar has been a name we have known for a couple years now, as he has come to numerous camps and played in high school events. Ghaffar just continues to get better, not only with his skill set but also in his confidence. Ghaffar is a high flying, high level athlete who tries to dunk everything. Only a sophomore, he will continue to get stronger and have his frame continue to develop. As that happens WATCH YO HEAD! Ghaffar has a solid handle and showcased a nice pull up jump shot, but make no mistake he has a penchant for the spectacular. D1s, put him on your radar, and be sure to watch soon.
