It is that time of the year… time to crown a champion in what can only be recognized as the premier event to end the season for several of these teams.  The Hoop State Championship gives teams, players, and fans a chance to check out some of the top teams in the country from North Carolina, all competing for a state title!

The season has flown by but Phenom Hoops has one more elite event to go in crowning a state champion, as we preview the teams that will be in contention this year.

A new program to the scene of North Carolina this year, head coach Patrick Cole and their staff will certainly be looking to make some big noise in their first appearance of the Hoop State Championship.  Knowing Coach Cole and his staff, there will be no lack of energy coming from this team.

When you talk about this team, they have several weapons that can step up in the spotlight and help lead their team.  Seniors Lureon Walker and Broderick Ellis bring length and playmaking ability to the court, while this is a team loaded with some strong juniors.  2023 Jakel Powell is a 6’5 prospect that can knock down shots and make plays, 2023 Caden Bell is a play-making guard, 2023 Asa White brings length and scoring impact around the paint, 2023 Trey Boyd can stretch the court, 2023 Jajuan Nicholls brings length and paint presence, and lastly, 2023 Tichyque Musaka is a rim-protecting force on both ends of the floor.  Lastly, you have 2024 Jalik Nicholls, who is a versatile prospect that can score inside and out.

This is a team that uses their depth and rotation well, as they will look to get their entire roster on the court. Though they have a tough mountain to climb as the No. 8 seed, NO ONE should be taking this team lightly and they would love nothing more to start their tournament off in a big way.
