While high school basketball is going on, there are plenty of events surrounding middle school teams and players, as Phenom Hoops had a chance to watch MADE Hoops recent event with some impressive talent.

One team and player that was absolutely must-see was 2030 6’9 David Moudouyi and if you haven’t heard or seen him, you should jump on board now. As an eighth grader, this young man is quite impressive with his impact and tenacity at the rim. A 6’9 prospect that moves really well for his size and age, Moudouyi looks like an absolute monster already, who will have D1 schools salivating in the coming years. Playing with NJ Scholars this season, Moudouyi impressed us big time with what we saw on the court, as the big man made plays all over.

Offensively, he is an absolute monster at his size at a young age, finishing high at the rim, operating well in the post, flying high throughout, and actually impressing us with his ability to put the ball on the deck, push in transition at times, and score off the bounce. Defensively, he is a problem with his ability to be a shot-blocker, paint protector, and a beast on the glass. Again, though, we are talking about a prospect that is still in the eighth grade and is just starting his story, with plenty of development to come in the next few years.

Check out the highlights below and start learning this young man’s name, as we have a feeling you will be seeing his name on the national rankings in the coming years.
