Phenom: How did this high school season go overall for you and your team' What were you looking to show more about with your game and provide more for your team'
Wright: It was decent, we went 17-13 overall and got put out in the region. This season, I was looking to expand my game and try to be a more complete player, and to show people that I’m not just a shooter.
Phenom: You certainly can shoot the ball well and have been labeled that a few times but how would you best describe your overall game on the court'
Wright: Of course, I can shoot the ball well but I can also put it on the floor and finish around the rim with a few dunks and strong finishes. My game is simple and not fancy and can move without the ball well.
Phenom: What is your excitement about this summer, playing with AOT again and getting another chance to showcase your talent'
Wright: I’m coming into this AAU season with a chip on my shoulder because no one really paid attention to me and I’m hoping I can come in and be labeled as one of the best players in my class and one of the best shooters in the country.
Phenom: How has recruitment been going for you'
Wright: It has been good so far. I have interests from Belmont, Chattanooga, Elon, and Auburn. I have been on visits to three of those schools, not yet visiting Elon yet.
Phenom: What have those schools been saying your way in general'
Wright: They have told me that they love my game and are looking forward to watching me play this summer and bringing me back on campus.
Phenom: When did you visit Auburn and what stood out with that visit'
Wright: The environment was crazy and the energy within the team was great. I could tell that everyone enjoyed playing for Coach Pearl and for Auburn.
Phenom: What about your experience at Belmont and Chattanooga'
Wright: Belmont has a great culture and felt more like home just because of how everyone supported each other and wanted everyone to succeed. They really put others before themselves, which stands out a lot. Chattanooga has a great atmosphere and I like the way they do things on a day-to-day basis. I also love their drive to get better and be successful during the season. Another thing that sticks out is that Chattanooga is my hometown school.
Phenom: Have any other visits set up'
Wright: Belmont plans to have me up near the end of the year.
