5’11 senior PG Michal Seals has always been the one player (no matter the venue) to give maximum effort and energy. While some players are wired to score, Michal is wired to compete. That’s his DNA. We have seen Michal countless time over the past several years in high school, travel ball, exposure camps and open gym. Each time Michal comes away being the one player that exerts the most amount of effort and energy. There is no “on and off” switch when it comes to his play on the court. His full throttle approach was once again on display at High Point Christian’s open gym.
Last fall at the NC Phenom 150 camp, we wrote, “Michal plays with a chip on his shoulder and every outing he sets out to prove his worth. He is “hungry” and competitive.” At the NC Top 80 event this past March, we wrote, “Michal is an all energy/high motor PG that plays the game with effort and passion. No matter the venue or setting, Michal comes to play and will do whatever is needed to secure his team a win. He has great open court speed and is a blur in transition. In addition, he gives equal effort defensively as he does on the offensive end of the court. What he lacks in size, he more than makes up with heart and desire. He’s a player that you always want on you side when going to battle.”
This year, Coach Brandon Clifford’s team is absolutely loaded. As he will rightfully try to quiet the high expectations, it will be players like Michal Seals that may have a huge impact on the team’s success. You see, Michal is a true competitor. He does all the simply things that are necessary for his team to win. He doesn’t make the game about him, but puts his effort and energy into the team’s success. Michal brings toughness and an aggressive defensive approach that will be a customary sight to HC Brandon Clifford.
Currently, Michal sports a 3.2 GPA and holds an offer from UVA-Wise. He is starting to get interest from NCCU. While he may like physical size at the PG position, he plays with a big heart and always seems to make impact plays and this year will be no different.
