Top-100 2026 guard Trey Beamer (IMG Academy, 6′2 PG) has announced his commitment to Boston College, choosing the Eagles over finalists including Maryland and Mississippi State. His decision gives BC a high-level guard presence and helps anchor their 2026 class.

Beamer arrives in Chestnut Hill with a reputation as a sharp shot-creator and two-way competitor. He’s shown the ability to score at all three levels, craft his way into the lane, and make plays for others. Defensively, he brings the aggression and effort to match up, and his feel for the game lends itself to early contributions in BC’s system. With this commitment, Boston College locks in a cornerstone backcourt piece who can influence both ends and grow into a leader for the Eagles.

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Watching this young man operate is something special. You can read what Jeff Bendel wrote about him not long ago below, but when reviewing the film more, Beamer just has a knack for producing with his game. Some players can score really well all throughout the country, but there aren’t many that can make it look easy like he does. He has a ton of tools in his game that allows him to hurt you in so many ways. Beamer’s pull-up game and range are impressive, knocking down shots with ease and with a ton of confidence; even a bad shot looks like a good shot when he lets it fly. But he is a dynamic guard with the ball in his hands, creating off the bounce, finding ways to score around or over defenders, and has good athleticism to his game that allows him to finish at the rim. The game seems to slow down for him at times, understanding how to create quality looks and plays, find teammates well, play under control, and look to create for himself. It is something special, which is why we are writing this article. He should be a name for so many programs to start looking at more because of what he provides on the court, you just don’t see that all the time with players and it doesn’t look like he is slowing down any time soon.”

“I would describe my game as a guy that can put the ball in the basket for his team at any time but can also facilitate and get guys involved, also a guy that is going to always compete at a high level. I flourish best when I feel like I’m trusted to be myself and being pushed to be my best.” – Beamer Gam Description

“Beamer is an exciting young prospect to really watch out for. Recently watched him in the VISAA playoffs where he filled it up, and did so again today to lead the charge for his team. When you talk about his game, you immediately notice his poise and feel for the game. He has a strong ability to create and make plays from all levels, find ways to get to his spots, and has such a nice feel in making plays with the ball in his hands. Exciting young player.”
