Chris Clayton is a new name to the radar, however he is one that colleges need to take serious note of. Clayton played last season at McDowell High School in Marion, North Carolina where he averaged 12 points per game.
Through the summer Clayton played with Team Vision, where his explosive athleticism opened many unexpected eyes. After our Phenom CP3 Live event we wrote, “Clayton doesn’t pass the traditional high flyer look test, but once he gets downhill, all bets are off. The sturdy Clayton has finished a varied amount of lobs and put backs throughout the event.”
For the school year, Clayton has reclassified as he transferred to Asheville Christian. Now part of the 2018 class is a very athletic short corner forward. He has touch out to 18 feet, but makes his living with short corner dunks and put backs.
Look for Clayton to get a jump in North Carolina’s sophomore class rankings, and also make sure to check out Clayton at the Phenom High School Jamboree on November 7 at Proehlific Park.
