Player: Trey Roper
Class: 2029
AAU: Team Loaded

The Phenom Winter Nationals brought a slew of new names and young talent that we are eager to watch grow and develop over the coming years. Most of these players are either finishing up middle school or are fully still in middle school, but one can’t deny that there is talent to start tracking now.

2029 6’2 Trey Roper from Team Loaded would be a name that I would jot down and start monitoring as he develops and grows. He is a strong, athletic guard who brought a lot of production and did so consistently. With his early frame, he was able to maneuver and operate from so many levels. Roper was able to really excel using his strength and frame to attack downhill and finish around the rim, consistently making plays off the dribble and finishing through defenders; that was where he was unstoppable throughout much of the event as he was simply physically overwhelming opponents time after time. But he was also able to make plays from outside at times, excel in transition, and also make plays in a variety of other ways. He was useful on both ends, being a good defender, helping attack the boards and be a force there, and also making good decisions on the court for his teammates.

It is still extremely early to see what he could ultimately be in the coming years but at his age today, he was able to be extremely productive on the court and an absolute force with his offensive skillset. Continue to monitor and jot his name down as one to watch in the coming years as he develops, gets bigger, and adds more to his game.
